R.Ac (Acupuncture) services are covered under many health insurance plans just like any clinic. Zenthai Shiastu is generally not covered, however “Needle-Free Acupuncture” can be covered, and looks and feels very similar. I am unable to tell you how much coverage you will receive for a given treatment – this amount varies greatly depending on provider, plan package, cost, frequency, and duration of treatments.

Booking availability ebbs and flows through the year as we navigate our clinic jobs as well as trainings, workshops, and festivals. If you are interested in booking in a specific window of time that appears unavailable online, please contact me – I have some flexibility.

WCZT does not offer direct billing. If you are eligible for R.Ac coverage, you will need to submit manually. It’s very simple: I will provide you with an official e-receipt with all the appropriate information, you will upload this receipt onto your insurance website’s client portal, and they generally pay their portion back to you via online banking.

Treatments cancelled within 24 hours prior to booking will incur a $50 Late Cancellation fee. No-shows or very late cancellations incur a 100% fee. Contact me if you feel you have an exceptional circumstance.

The official cancellation policy must be agreed to before booking.

Please fill out your pre-treatment intake form with enough detail that I can provide a safe and effective treatment. Many clients find it more effective to enter the treatment space with a specific intention for their wellbeing. Be ready to communicate your current relevant issues, ideal results, and goals for healing. Afterwards, I recommend not transitioning immediately back into a stressful or high-demand role – have a cup of tea and enjoy yourself!

Short answer: No. Zenthai Shiatsu works best through loose, comfortable clothing – even socks! In fact, you should bring some extra layers – it works best on a warm body. If you show up wearing tight and constrictive clothing, or not enough clothing, I may lend you more suitable clothing from my client linen supply.

For acupuncture & cupping – maybe. In a dedicated acupuncture session, I may ask you to remove a layer for certain needle and cupping placements. Sheets and draping techniques will be used to ensure appropriate coverage. Nothing will occur without your consent.

Loose, comfortable, warm clothes. If receiving acupuncture, please ensure your clothes can roll up past the elbows and knees. You may want to bring a water bottle or snack for after.

Your wellbeing is my priority. Informed and ongoing consent is part of every treatment. Clients always have the right to withdraw or modify their consent at any point during the treatment. I do my best to ensure the treatment feels therapeutic and safe, and I encourage you to speak up about pressure levels and discomforts as they arise so I can modify accordingly.

The heated Zenthai mat is usually comfortable for the duration of treatment. I will use pillows and bolsters to modify positions for your comfort. Those with moderate to severe neck mobility restriction may occasionally find certain positions uncomfortable – but there’s nothing we can’t modify for your body’s wellbeing.
